Dewalt DWP611PK 1.25 HP Max Torque Variable Speed Compact Router Combo Kit with LED’s

Top 10 Best Wood Router Review

The DeWalt DWP611PK is an excellent router to add to your workshop tool range. A great choice for any user professionals or hobbyists, hobbyists will find it to be almost perfect. If you’re just starting out and want the perfect a router that’s suitable for hobbyists, then look no further.

This router has a 1.25 horsepower motor, not the strongest one you can find, but it’s packed with features that make it easy even hobbyists just straight out the box. With its low horsepower motor, it is very suited for beginners, it’ll perform any router tasks that you ever need.

The hobbyists friendliest feature is its soft start, the router will gradually get up to its top speed in just over 1.5  seconds allowing you get a comfortable grip. Smaller horsepower motor will still pack a lot of torque. For a new user, this can be a bit jarring.

The Dewalt router comes with a variable speed, this will enable you to get the RPMs precisely where you want them and this will enable you to get a clean cut. With the variable speed settings, you are able to set the RPM between 17,000 & 27,000rpm for a wide range of applications.

The Dewalt router comes with both a fixed and plunging bases, This will enable the hobbyist to do almost anything that he needs to do. A feature of this router is its dual, bright LED lights and the hobbyist will be able to see their workpiece clearly without adding extra light to the job.

I observed a few drawbacks, mainly for professional users. It’s a light and not suitable for really heavy jobs. Most professional will want to use a router table, this Dewalt router is not up to the job, due to its lack of horsepower.

When all is done and said, the price is under 200 dollars which is a great price and it comes with a 3-year warranty you will not have to worry about manufacturer defects or failures. The more advanced professional will no doubt want something heavier and more horsepower. The DeWalt router is absolutely perfect for a hobbyist or beginner, and within its price tag will be hard to beat.

Reasons Why I Personally Recommend It

  • Soft Start Motor. This will allow the motor to get up to full RPM speed in about 1.5 seconds and that maintains motor speed through the cut.
  • LED Lights. twin LED lights making it much easy to see in a low lighted area.
  • Fixed & Plunging Bases. This gives greater flexibility over tasks that need to perform
  • Speed. 17,000 & 27,000rpm for a wide range of applications.
  • Warranty. 3 Year Limited Warranty

VERDICT
Great all-rounder,
PROS
